Salisbury District Hospital is inviting the local community for a behind-the-scenes look at life in healthcare.

It's the third year in a row the Hospital has opened it's doors to the public.

The open day gives us a chance to learn more about the workings of the hospital with interactive demonstrations, activities and displays.

We can get hands on with simulation manikins used to help train staff, meet therapy pets and find out more about how various departments support patients.

Numerous department teams will be showcasing their services, including the Laser Clinic.

Visitors can also take a 'blue plaque' tour to learn more about the historic moments of the hospital's years of caring for the community, including Florence Nightingale, caring for casualties from D-Day, advances in plastic surgery and the treatment of burns, spinal injuries and innovation in rehabilitation.

We'll also be able to learn more about the 350 different careers in the NHS and the toy hospital is making a return too.

Managing Director Lisa Thomas said: “This is our third year, and for 2025 we’re making it bigger and better by inviting the community right into the hospital to explore the action. This will be a great day of fun and entertainment for the whole family.”

Doors open from 10am until 3pm, with on site parking free.
