Michael Beck, the man who raised £450,000 for Stars Appeal, has been honoured with a special artwork at Salisbury District Hospital.

Mr Beck, who passed away in November 2021, inspired others to donate or fundraise themselves with sponsored walks and was often accompanied by his wheelbarrow “Wally”.

Stars Appeal’s David Cates said:

“Michael’s legacy at the hospital very much lives on. Every single day hundreds of people are benefiting from facilities that Michael helped fund.

“This artwork expresses our gratitude to Michael and celebrates his life and his selfless work. We continue to miss him and remain forever grateful to him.”

The new display honouring Michael Beck, from Fifield Bavant, has been unveiled in the main corridor at SDH

The artwork was unveiled last Thursday (March 2nd) by his friends and fellow Stars Appeal collectors Keith Noble and Emma Fortescue.

The artwork is visible in the main corridor of the hospital, opposite the pharmacy.
