Stacey Hunter has said it is "a real honour" to have started in her new role as the Chief Executive of Salisbury NHS Foundation Trust.

Joining from the Bradford and Airedale Foundation Trusts, Stacey started her career as a nurse in 1990.

Since then she has taken on a number of business management positions within hospitals, including being recently seconded to Yorkshire & Humber Nightingale Hospital as Chief Operating Officer due to the Covid-19 crisis.

Stacey said:

"It is a real honour to be part of a team that is focussed on delivering compassionate and high quality care. As well as joining the team at the hospital, I am looking forward to becoming part of the local community.

I appreciate I am joining at a particularly challenging and difficult period as we recover from the initial impact of COVID-19 and head into winter. The current situation presents challenges for everyone but despite the inevitable disruption, I know that our team will continue to provide high quality and compassionate care and experiences for patients."

Former CEO, Cara Charles-Barks MBE, was in charge at Salisbury District Hospital during the Novichok crisis in 2018.

Cara has left to become Chief Exec of Royal United Hospitals Bath.

Salisbury NHS Foundation Trust Chairman, Nick Marsden, added:

"We offer a warm welcome to Stacey. I know that she will continue to drive the progress we have made here at Salisbury over the past four years."
