The Salisbury Hospice Charity is marking its 40th anniversary year in 2021, so they've come up with a daring way of raising some money for them.

They're looking for people brave enough to walk a distance of 15 feet across hot coals at a temperature of around 550 degrees celsius!

The event had been planned for February, but with the current lockdown restrictions, it's been pushed back to Friday 11th June.

It'll take place outside Salisbury Guildhall, in a first for the city too.

Here's what people can expect:

Abi Blake, Event Fundraiser said:

“Are you looking for a New Year Challenge? Do you want to make a difference and raise much-needed funds for the hospice? Well this is just the challenge for you!

"Whether Fire Walking is already on your bucket list or something you’ve never considered doing, it is an exhilarating way to challenge yourself to do something different.

“If you can walk on fire, you can do anything!”

Salisbury Hospice is looking for people willing to take on the 'mind-over-matter' challenge to raise money for them in their 40th anniversary year

The walk itself will be led by UK Fire Walk, one of the country's experts in the field.

Everyone taking part will get training from Scott Bell - who's the twice Guinness World Record holder for the 'Greatest Fire Walking Distance', covering 328 feet (almost 100 metres) of burning coals.

Registration is £30 per person with the charity asking people to also raise a minimum of £150 in sponsorship.

You can find out more, and sign up to take part on the Salisbury Hospice website.
