£12,000 has been raised for the Salisbury Hospice Charity after the second Celebration Walk last Sunday (10th September).

Walkers decked out in aqua blue celebration walk t-shirts took part in a five or 10 mile walk, which started and ended at The Guildhall in Salisbury.

A warm up event was led by Alex from Kidz Love Fit, getting the walkers ready with a fun dance routine, before the participants were sent on their way.

Along the way, participants were able to light a candle for a loved one at St Joseph's Church and tie a ribbon around the remembrance tree.

The Hospice charity has thanked the participants, volunteers and general support they received in putting on the event.

The funds raised will allow the Hospice to carry on giving vital, end of life care, benefiting patients and families in the community.

Moyra Rowney, Events Fundraiser said: “It is always a privilege to be part of the team who put on the Celebration Walk and this year was a wonderful, happy, sometimes emotional, occasion.

"To have raised over £12,000 with funds still coming in is astonishing, and rewarding and very, very humbling.”
