Loved ones celebrated with Salisbury Hospice celebration walk
It'll raise money towards the annual £2.9 million needed to run the Hospice
People in Salisbury will be celebrating the life of someone special to them today by taking part in the Salisbury Hospice Celebration Walk.
From 12pm today, walkers will travel a five or 10-mile route, raising money for the Hospice.
Along the way, both routes will offer a chance to light a candle in St. Thomas’s Church, the official church of the City of Salisbury, as well as tie a ribbon around the Hospice’s Celebration Tree.
The ribbon can represent a loved one who has been lost, overcoming adversity or celebrating life.
Walkers will also receive a living medal in the form of Forget Me Not seeds.
Each route starts and finishes at Salisbury Guildhall, with the 10-mile course stretching out to Harnham and Bemerton, while the 5-mile route reaches the Hospice before heading on a more direct route back into the city.
It’s hoped that each participant raises £100, towards the £2.9 million needed each year to run the Hospice.
