Salisbury charity Horatio's Garden is to spread the message of its work at the most prestigious flower show in the world in 2023.

They're planning a Main Avenue garden at the RHS Chelsea Flower Show.

It's aimed at showing people how important gardens can be for therapy and escapism for patients with spinal injuries.

We're told the vision for the garden is 'a beautiful, immersive, restorative haven - the antithesis of a busy, clinical hospital environment'.

The Horatio's Garden at the Duke of Cornwall Spinal Injury Unit at Salisbury District Hospital was opened in 2012, and was the first of its kind.

There are seven more gardens at hospitals across the UK, with plans to build further sites to support spinal injury patients.

Salisbury is the home of the very first Horatio's Garden, which aims to give spinal injury patients some outdoor space to relax in during long hospital stays

Olivia Chapple, Founder and Chair of Trustees at Horatio’s Garden, said:

“We are thrilled to be announcing our eighth garden is coming to Sheffield in 2024, where we know it will transform the lives of thousands of people. What better way of heralding this than showcasing the design at the world-renowned RHS Chelsea Flower Show where Charlotte Harris and Hugo Bugg’s brilliant design will enable to us to share the important message that great design benefits the lives of everyone.”

The Horatio's Garden charity has been to the Chelsea Flower Show before, selling merchandise and telling guests more about their work.
