Retailer Homesense has confirmed when they'll be shutting Salisbury's branch of the chain - with just a few weeks to go.

The homeware store will shut on Churchill Way on Monday 27th January.

Signs have been put up in the windows of Homesense in Salisbury's Churchill Way about the closure

The business has already announced they will be keeping their TK Maxx outlet in Salisbury, in the Cross Keys shopping centre.

Homesense, and its next door neighbour Smyths Toys, are closing as their leases end, to make way for a new Lidl supermarket in their place.

Smyths shut its doors for the final time yesterday (Sunday 5th January).

The units will be knocked down with the Lidl store then built - planning permission was granted by Wiltshire Council last year.

The supermarket chain say the Churchill Way store would create 40 new jobs.

When the application was submitted, James Mitchell, Regional Head of Property at Lidl GB, said:

“We’re thrilled to announce our plans for a second store in Salisbury.

"The demand for our high-quality, best-value products continues to grow, and we’re eager to make shopping even more convenient for customers, with our new store ideally located to serve residents in the north and west of Salisbury."
