Today (Saturday 14th May), Salisbury says goodbye to the current Mayor as they welcome the 761st one in the city.

Cllr Tom Corbin will take the Mayoral chain for the next year, but it hasn't got far to go.

He will be passed it by his wife and now former Mayor Caroline Corbin.

Tom has been the Deputy Mayor for the past year.

It will be made official at the Mayor Making ceremony today, which will start at the Guildhall.

A Civic Procession will take place via Fish Row, Butchers Row, Minster Street and into St. Thomas’s Church a with a fanfare played by the Shrewton Silver Band.

The official hand over will then take place in St Thomas's Church.

Alongside the Charter Market in the Market Place, there will also be music and activities from 10am – 4pm in the Guildhall Square throughout the day including a free children’s workshop in front of the War Memorial.
