Gardening themed workshops being held in Salisbury for 'Fun in the Park'
It's a chance for children to get hands on with nature
There's a number of gardening themed workshops in Salisbury today (Wednesday 1st June) as the city council hold 'Fun in the Park'.
Children have an opportunity to get hands on with nature in Victoria Park between 11am and 3pm.
Activities include a clay workshop, planting a sunflower, flower crafting and bug hotel and bird feeder making.
It's all to celebrate National Children's Gardening Week.
Children will be able to take away free wildflower seeds so they can learn how to grow plants that are great for the environment at home.
Meanwhile, as it is the Platinum Jubilee week, a plaque for the Queen's Canopy trees will be unveiled.
Chair of the Environmental Working Group, Cllr Wells said:
“As part of the City Council’s commitment to engage with the community about the environment, Fun in the Park will be a great free event for children with activities that will help them learn about nature and the climate. Parents are welcome to get stuck in too.”
