Salisbury Foodbank spreading Easter cheer with special hampers
Almost 400 people have been given them
Salisbury Foodbank are helping lift spirits this Easter by delivering nearly 100 themed hampers.
The contents of which include basic food items and a number of goodies, with up to four Easter Eggs.
92 families have been supported by them, which equals over 380 children and adults.
The food distributed in this single amounted to nearly 2.5 tonnes and this latest initiative has come at the end of what has been their busiest start to the year ever.
Foodbank Manager, Marie Stevenson commented:
"This is another great example of the community pulling together. We are only able to deliver these largescale projects with key partners behind us. Schools nominate families, our community gifts the stock, we build it all together and it is delivered by a local business.
We were very keen to be able to provide an Easter egg to EVERY family member, therefore, a special thanks is due to 'Winterslow Churches Together' and Community for collecting over 400 eggs just for this project and 'A World Of Furniture' for their ongoing distribution support and commitment to the foodbank."
