Pools at Salisbury's Five Rivers temporarily CLOSED
There's a problem with the hot water and heating on site
The swimming pools at Salisbury's Five Rivers Leisure Centre are being temporarily closed from today (Tuesday 11th June).
Wiltshire Council say there's a mechanical issues on site that's affecting their hot water and heating systems.
Urgent repairs are being carried out, but all planned pool sessions are being cancelled while the work's carried out.
There's no timeframe as yet for how long the closure might be in place, but we're told engineers aim to reopen the pools as soon as possible.
All other leisure and fitness services at Five Rivers are largely unaffected and will remain operational.
But the lack of hot water could also impact what the café can offer.
Cllr Ian Blair-Pilling, Cabinet Member for Leisure, said:
“A mechanical issue which affects our hot water and heating system has been identified and engineers will make repairs as quickly as possible.
Unfortunately, this will mean some disruption at the centre and we apologise for any inconvenience while this work is carried out.
“We can’t confirm yet exactly when all the facilities and services will be back to normal, but it is a top priority to get the issue fixed and we’ll keep people up to date.”
