Salisbury Five Rivers Leisure Centre gym improvement work beginning
The fitness area's undergoing a full refurbishment

A full refurbishment of the gym at the Five Rivers Health and Wellbeing in Salisbury begins today (Monday 12th August).
Wiltshire Council's putting in new floors and lighting, replacing the gym equipment and redecorating throughout.
The gym itself will be closed today, with a temporary fitness centre being set up in the sports hall from tomorrow (Tuesday 13th August).
The work's expected to take three weeks to complete.
This follows other works at Five Rivers with the aim of improving the experience for customers.
A new virtual studio's been set up, with classes due to start in there shortly.
Wiltshire Council's also said they'll be re-opening the Five Rivers health suite on site on a trial basis.
That was temporarily closed by the authority, along with facilities at six of its other leisure centres, due to the high running costs when energy costs were soaring, and the impact on the council’s carbon footprint.
The trail from September will assess its 'effectiveness and usage' to make sure the facility is viable.
Cllr Ian Blair-Pilling, Cabinet Member for Leisure, said:
“I’m pleased to confirm more improvement works to one of our leisure centres.
“As a leisure service we want to help the people of Wiltshire to increase activity levels and improve health. To do that we need to provide quality services in fit-for-purpose accessible facilities for all.
“We will also be opening up the health suite again on a trial basis. It’s important the health suite facilities are viable at Five Rivers and we’re in the process of working out the best way to offer these services to our customers at good value, but in a way that’s sustainable for us to run. We’ll have more information on this soon.
“We look forward to delivering these projects and providing a much-improved fitness offer for all members.”
