Final preparations for Salisbury FC's return to the National League South have been boosted with the signing of a new defender on loan.

2\0 year old George Franklin joins from Oxford United, having just put pen to paper on his first professional contract there.

He's captain the U's youth side to the FA Cup quarter-finals last season, eventually losing out to Manchester City.

He also spent time on loan at North Leigh and Bracknell during the previous campaign, as well as making his full debut for Oxford in September 2023.

Salisbury Manager Brian Dutton said:

“I’m delighted to continue and strengthen our relationship with Oxford United. We had a fantastic loan from the last season with Richard McIntire.

“George coming in will be another really exciting and talented player that Oxford has produced. We look forward to working with him and progressing his career.”

Franklin is available for the squad, as the Whites play Hemel Hempstead away tomorrow (Saturday 10th August).

That's their first game in the NLS following promotion last season through the Southern League Premier play-offs.
