We won't be able to book appointments to use Salisbury Household Recycling Centre on Churchfields from Monday 22nd February.

It'll re-open on Saturday 27th February, after the 'essential resurfacing works' have been completed.

The closure period includes two days when the centre would have been closed for its normal weekly shutdowns anyway.

While the Salisbury dump is closed, Amesbury's tip will have its opening hours extended to give residents a chance to keep booking slots to dispose of waste.

The Amesbury household recycling centre will be open 9.00am to 5.00pm from Monday 22nd February to Friday 26th February.

That includes two days that the site on Boscombe Down Business Park would normally be shut, to allow for extra capacity from the Salisbury closure.

Cllr Bridget Wayman, Cabinet Member for Waste at Wiltshire Council, said:

"We apologise for any inconvenience caused by this temporary closure at Salisbury HRC, but these are essential resurfacing works that cannot be delayed.

"We have arranged for extended opening times at Amesbury HRC during the works, so anyone that has to make an essential trip should be able to book a visit to this site during the Salisbury closure.

"I'd like to thank our residents for their patience during this short closure period, and we look forward to Salisbury HRC reopening soon for people to book visits."

Opening hours are being reduced at Amesbury's tip for the winter season as well

SLOTS MUST BE BOOKED

We're reminded that to use the household recycling centres at the moment, we have to book a slot through the Wiltshire Council website.

That's to ensure Covid restrictions are met, by reducing numbers on site.

We're also asked to maintain social distancing when visiting.
