Drink driver banned after being spotted on Salisbury CCTV

A drink driver's been disqualified for 19 months after being caught by Salisbury's CCTV operators.

4\2 year old Benjamin Collins, from Westwood Road on Bemerton Heath, was seen staggering towards his parked car in The Maltings on February 2nd.

CCTV staff told police on foot patrol, who found Collins in the driver's seat and trying to leave the scene.

A roadside breath test found he was three times over the limit for alcohol.

He admitted drink driving at Salisbury Magistrates Court on Tuesday (18th February) and received a ban.

Police say the case highlights the need to call 999 if we suspect someone of getting behind the wheel under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
