A member of security staff at a Salisbury venue has been subjected to racially aggravated abuse and assaulted.

It happened at the Frost Bar in the Market Square, at around 10.30pm on Sunday (3rd December).

Wiltshire Police are calling it a 'disorder' incident - with one arrest made.

A man in his 30s has been questioned on suspicion of two counts of common assault, two counts of common assault on an emergency worker, and racially aggravated harassment.

He's been released on conditional bail while further enquiries are carried out.

There's now an appeal for witnesses for to get in touch with officers. PC Jack Bailey said:

“This is a busy local venue and members of the public would have been in the bar and the local area at the time - it is likely that somebody may have seen something and may have information which could assist our investigation.”
