Salisbury District Hospital records Covid-19 death

Salisbury District Hospital have confirmed that a further patient has passed away there, having tested positive for Covid-19.

This means the total number of fatalities is at 217 since the pandemic began.

A spokesperson for Salisbury District Hospital said:

“Sadly, we can confirm that a patient who had been cared for at Salisbury District Hospital and had tested positive for COVID-19 died on Wednesday 28th July. The patient was in his 40s and did not have any underlying health conditions.

217 patients in total have now passed away.

Our thoughts and condolences are with the patient’s family and loved ones at this very difficult and distressing time.

There are currently 8 COVID-19 positive patients being treated at the hospital.

We would urge everyone to continue to take precautions to minimise the spread of the virus"

LATEST CASES

In the seven days to 24th July, there have been 1,550**** positive cases in Wiltshire.

That's an decrease**** of 507 on the previous week.

This means the county's rolling rate per 100,000 population is at 310.

The national average is 375.2.
