Salisbury District Hospital has won an award for improving its services for patients.

The award comes from Proud2bOps, with the Salisbury NHS Foundation Trust’s Operation Managers scooping Operational Improvement Initiative of the Year.

They received the award earlier this month at a conference held in Bolton.

Specialty-level Operations Managers were introduced at the hospital in late 2023. Within the past year, they have made a significant contribution to improving the services delivered by staff, including reducing wait lists from referral to treatment, length of stay in the Medicine Division and time to first outpatient attendance.

"They have also been effective in improving performance in treating cancer patients and productivity in the use of Theatres.

Salisbury NHS Foundation Trust Managing Director Lisa Thomas said: ”It’s great to see our staff’s hard work, dedication and expertise being recognised nationally, it’s a fantastic achievement.

"Although they’ve all only been in post for a relatively short space of time, they have helped to deliver some impressive service improvements for our patients.”
