NHS 75: Salisbury District Hospital to host open day
There's a rare chance to go behind the scenes later this month
The celebrations for the NHS's anniversary will continue in Salisbury later this month - with a chance to go behind the scenes at the District Hospital.
They're holding an open day, on Saturday 22nd July from 10.00am to 2.00pm.
It's all to mark 75 years of the health service, but also 80 years since the Odstock site was first used as a hospital by the US Army - and the first time in a generation an open day's been put on there.
Chief Executive Stacey Hunter said:
“Everyone at the Trust is excited to welcome our community onto the site to visit and witness many of the fascinating things that go on in our hospital and find out more about what we do to provide quality care to our patients. We are delighted to be able to provide fun and entertainment for the whole family at what will be a most enjoyable community event.”
During the day, we'll be able to tour emergency vehicles, take part in demos, and see where a new ward's under construction.
Children can also get a health check for their favourite toy and there'll be live music, and other activities to enjoy.
Parking fees will also be waived on the day for those attending.
