Junior Doctors and Consultants are joined by radiographers in further industrial action that is affecting the NHS this week.

Junior Doctors and Consultants staged another walkout over pay from yesterday (2nd October) and will be joined by Radiographers today (3rd October)

And as a result, we are being told to expect services similar to that of Christmas Day until 7am on Thursday 5th October.

Salisbury District Hospital say they will be very busy, but that safe patient care will still be provided.

In a post on Facebook, the hospital said: “Our hospital's focus will continue to remain on ensuring patient safety and that critical services are maintained through this strike period. If you need medical help or advice, or you are unsure about whether you should go to hospital, go to NHS 111 online. Patients should only call 999 or attend A&E if it is an urgent or life-threatening health emergency.”

The hospital added that we should still attend appointments unless contacted by the NHS.

The Bath and North East Somerset, Swindon and Wiltshire Integrated Care Board is calling for our support during the walkouts.

Dr Amanda Webb, Chief Medical Officer at Bath and North East Somerset, Swindon and Wiltshire Integrated Care Board said: “We are now entering the eleventh month of industrial action across the NHS and we’d like to thank the public for their ongoing support during this extremely difficult time.

“Your ongoing support really makes a difference.”
