Covid-19: Death recorded at Salisbury District Hospital

Our local hospital hasn't had any fatalities connected to the virus for four months.

It's been confirmed that a patient, who's tested positive for Covid-19, has passed away at Salisbury District Hospital.

A woman is her 80s died on Sunday (11th October).

That brings the total number of deaths there to 57 since the pandemic began.

The last fatality related to the outbreak was back on the 13th June.

In a statement, the Salisbury NHS Foundation Trust said:

"Sadly a total of 57 patients who had tested positive for Covid-19 have died at Salisbury District Hospital.

"A woman in her eighties, with pre-existing health conditions, died on 11th October 2020.

"Our thoughts and condolences are with the patient's family and loved ones at this difficult time."
