Salisbury District Hospital are urging us to get vaccinated, as two more people have died at the Trust, after testing positive for Covid-19.

The last death to be recorded there was on Friday 7th May.

One patient in her 80's and the other in 60's, both with underlying health conditions, passed away on Monday 12th July.

That brings the total number of patients to have died at the hospital to 215.

Spokesperson from Salisbury District Hospital told Greatest Hits Radio:

"Our thoughts and condolences are with all the families and loved ones at this very difficult and distressing time.

"Whilst COVID-19 positive patients being treated at the hospital remain relatively low, we are seeing a steady rise in cases and sadly we continue to experience COVID related deaths. Therefore, despite restrictions easing across the country in a few days, we would ask that everyone remain cautious and act responsibly. It is by working together that we will be able to minimise the impact of COVID infections.

"The best protection is to have both two doses of the COVID vaccine, and we urge everyone to make an appointment or use a walk-in service as soon as possible.

"Infection prevention measures will remain in place for staff and visitors at the hospital whilst we await further national guidance."
