The Chief Executive of Salisbury District Hospital has taken to social media to express her sincere thanks to all the staff there for their hard work during the pandemic.

The NHS Foundation Trust posted a video on YouTube of Stacey Hunter highlighting just how difficult the last 18 months has been.

The video starts:

"I would just like to take a few minutes to express my sincere thanks and gratitude to all of our colleagues at Salisbury District Hospital. We know over the last six to eight weeks It's been a really intensely busy period and our colleagues in the South Western Ambulance service have been reporting their busiest ever days which translates into us having seen more people through our emergency department and some of our acute pathways over the last few weeks, than perhaps we've seen since prior to the pandemic."

Last Wednesday, the Trust reported that there were ten positive patients at the hospital.

The death toll there remains at 217.
