Salisbury Hospital eases 'Covid' visitor restrictions

Changes come into effect first thing Monday morning

Salisbury NHS Foundation Trust has announced it's partially lifting restrictions on hospital visitors.

The hospital's been closed to visitors since the start of this year because of the risk caused by a rise in Covid-19 infections and the ongoing pandemic, and the Omicron variant.

Salisbury Hospital had suspended visits on January 1st.

HOSPITAL READY TO EASE SOME VISITOR RESTRICTIONS

But from 00.01 hrs on Monday (31st January) patients will be able to have one person visiting for one hour.

CONDITIONS FOR VISITING

Visitors must call ahead to book a time and show proof of a negative Lateral Flow Test on arrival.

The hospital is a healthcare setting and to protect patients, staff and other visitors, face masks must be worn at all times. While on site visitors must also adhere to social distancing and hand hygiene.

For those visiting End of Life, Maternity or Children visitors are asked to please discuss arrangements with the ward team.

Judy Dyos, Chief Nursing Officer, said:

“With infection rates lowering in the community, I’m pleased we are now in a position to be able to ease some of the visitor restrictions we have in place."

"I understand how difficult it has been for people not to be able to see their loved ones and I would like to thank everyone for their support and patience."
