Alicia Rockall and Mac Sullivan got engaged in Gloucestershire
A Salisbury woman says she's 'touched' that millions of people have liked her engagement pictures on social media.
Alicia Rockall was proposed to by Mac Sullivan in Gloucestershire last weekend (Saturday 16th December) in Bourton-on-the-Water in Gloucestershire.
A stranger captured the moment in photos, shared on X.
There was an appeal to trace the couple to pass on those images, which has now been seen over four million times!
Alicia's told Greatest Hits Radio that friends started tagging them in the pictures before they'd even had a chance to tell their families, so asked them to keep it quiet for a while.
She says the last week's been a whirlwind:
"Social media can be very dark and this I think is just something very light, to be part of that, and give other people a little bit of joy. I feel really touched that other strangers wanted to make sure we got the photos."
And Alicia says the photographer's also passed on the images to the couple:
"She was really lovely, she must have take about 10 photos of us on the bridge and shared them all. She actually apologised, she said 'I'm so sorry if this intruded on what was quite a personal moment' because she would never have thought that this would have gone as far as it did either!"
