A planning application has been submitted

If plans are approved, Salisbury could be getting a brand new shoe shop in the city centre.

An application has been submitted by footwear brand Deichmann, which currently has 118 stores across the UK.

They hope to takeover the old Topshop site in the Old George Mall.

The front of store plans for Deichmann

The site plans uploaded with the application suggest that one set of doors will be removed, creating just one entrance and exit.

We approached Deichmann, but they weren't giving too much away.

A spokesperson said:

"Deichmann is constantly looking for new locations to add to our expanding store portfolio and we’d like the city of Salisbury to one day be part of it. We keep monitoring possibilities within Salisbury which has fantastic opportunities to offer."

TIME TO HAVE YOUR SAY

No comments have been officially made on the plans yet, but the public are now able to do so.

Anyone wanting to have their say on the planning application has until the 22nd of April.

A decision is set to be made on the 19th of May.
