Salisbury community urged to shop local before lockdown
Some are staying open later than usual this week to fit people in.

As all non-essential businesses like restaurants, bars and hairdressers shut on Thursday (5th November), we are being asked to shop local in Salisbury before then.
A second national lockdown comes into effect from 00:01am and Salisbury BID are urging us to make the effort to support those retailers over the last couple of days.
Non-essential stores can stay open for delivery and click and collect, but their shops will have to close their doors once again this year.
Susi Mason, Director of Salisbury BID and owner of Casa Fina, said:
"We're devastated that this is happening at what's the busiest time of the year for retailers in particular. But we understand the Government's decision is necessary in order to control the spread of the virus and save lives.
Between now and Thursday, many independent retailers, hairdressers and salons are staying open later, so please do everything you can to support them before they're forced to close.
Shops are doing their best to adapt by offering click & collect or a delivery service in order to reach their customers. The support we had from customers throughout the last lockdown was overwhelming, and we're urging everyone to continue to support and shop with our local retailers wherever possible.
Nobody wants to see Salisbury full of empty shops, but to avoid this happening we need the community of Salisbury to shop locally and support our businesses.

The government have issued advice for businesses online.
BUSY TIME OF YEAR
Many independents would never have thought they would go through this, let alone twice in one year.
Currently, this second lockdown is due to end on December 2nd and with Christmas being a really busy period for many, it's hoped it won't be extended further.
There is an air of positivity from some businesses though, many of whom will be increasing their online offering to make the most of having their shop doors shut.
Salisbury BID have published a list of shops and takeaways who are still trading in lockdown to help people continue to support these local businesses.
