Salisbury City Council declare vacancy in Office of Councillor
Eleanor Wills resigned as Harnham West councillor last week
The resignation of a councillor for Harnham West has left a vacancy on Salisbury City Council.
Eleanor Wills resigned last week, blasting the City Council, claiming they lacked strong leadership.
An election to fill the vacancy will be held should 10 electors from the Parish of Salisbury write to the Returning Officer at Wiltshire Council, requesting an election be held, by 15th September.
Should an election not be requested, the vacancy will be filled by co-option. If an election is called, it will happen by 17th November.
A Notice of Vacancy is displayed on the City Council’s website, where the Election Request Form can also be found, as well being picked up from the Salisbury Information Centre.
