Salisbury city centre braced for traffic chaos as sewer repairs begin

Wessex Water are making 'urgent repairs' to a sewer on Castle Street

Traffic in Salisbury city centre is likely to heavier than normal from this morning (3/6) due to 'urgent' sewer repairs being carried out by Wessex Water.

Temporary traffic lights have been set up to allow Wessex Water to work on site.

The works will be at the junction of Castle Street and Millstream Approach.

It's hoped the repairs will be completed by Friday 14th June.

In a statement, Wessex Water said: "We appreciate this is a busy road and we're sorry for any inconvenience caused. We'll be doing everything we can to complete the repairs as quickly as possible.

"Customers' sewerage services will not be affected."
