The Salisbury Charter Market has been cancelled for today (Saturday 31st October) due to the adverse weather forecast.

Heavy rain and strong winds of up to 49mph are expected from the morning through to the evening.

Salisbury City Council__ announced on their social media:

"Due to the adverse weather forecast, the Salisbury Charter Market on Saturday 31 October has unfortunately been cancelled. We are sorry for any inconvenience this may cause and we hope to see you at our next market on Tuesday."

The event takes place every Tuesday and Saturday in the Market Place and returned in May after a few months of not going ahead due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

There are still safety measures in place to make sure it is Covid secure.

These include social distancing, use of barriers and using contactless payments.

In September the market had to be cancelled after a body was found in the public toilets nearby.
