Charter Fair returning to Salisbury next month
The fair was first held in 1227
Salisbury’s Charter Fair is returning to the city’s Market Place in October.
It’s an event that attracts thousands of visitors to the City every year with rides, stalls and attractions.
The Charter was first granted to the city seven years after the building of Salisbury Cathedral in 1227 by King Henry III, allowing the Bishop of Salisbury to hold a fair on the third Monday in October.
This years fair will open from 2pm-9pm on Sunday 15th October until Wednesday 18th. On Monday to Wednesday, the fair will be open from 11am to 10pm.
And there’s a new ride this year, called Oxygen, for those thrill seekers among us.
The Charter Fair will be opened by Mayor of Salisbury Atiqul Hoque.
