More volunteers are being sought to monitor Salisbury's CCTV cameras and radio system.

The City Council's looking for extra team members to join the team, with places available on a training course this Autumn.

The system based at Bourne Hill has been monitored by looked after by the local authority since September 2018 and has recently has a £25,000 upgrade.

Keith Jackson, CCTV Manager from Salisbury, said:

“We have recruited and trained many groups of volunteers, and they are doing a great job.

“We are gradually increasing our team, we have places on a CCTV Operators course in the autumn, which need filling.

“If you have good communication skills, are able to work to a high standard under pressure and are committed to Salisbury’s security and public safety, then we’d love to hear from you.”

Volunteers must be able to commit to 16 hours a month at a minimum.

They'll be trained to a professional standard and work within a strict code of practice.
