The names have been revealed for the adult peregrine falcons at Salisbury Cathedral.

A competition was launched for people to suggest names for the soon-to-be parents, who have made the nest box at the bottom of the spire their new home.

They had to be linked to flora and fauna, with the winning entry getting tickets to the Flower Festival in May.

The names picked out of the hat by Creative Director of Flower at Salisbury Cathedral Michael Bowyer were Daisy and Oxeye.

Nearly 140 people took part.

INCUBATION HAS STARTED

It appears that the four eggs laid by the female peregrine is where she is stopping, as incubation has started.

The bird will barely move now until the eggs start to hatch.

But they are facing some issues currently, as it is vital the eggs are kept warm, but the cold weather makes that much harder.

They've been named Daisy (background) and Oxeye (foreground)

The Cathedral are estimating that the chicks will start to hatch around the 27th and 28th of April.

You can follow their progress through the live stream cameras on their website.
