Salisbury Cathedral hosting TWO family nativities today
It's the first time they've had an extra service
Salisbury Cathedral will host TWO of its popular family nativities today (Saturday 24th December).
It's the first time ever they've held a second service - to make sure as many people can see it as possible.
The events, which tell the story of Christmas in a fun and accessible way for all ages, but especially for younger children, usually become full very quickly.
They'll be held at 1pm and at 2.30pm.
Doors will open 30 minutes beforehand for each service - no tickets are required, but expect to queue to get in.
Message from Dean of Salisbury
The Dean of Salisbury has shared his message while last-minute preparations at the Cathedral take place to hold Christmas services.
Reflecting on this year, Nick Papadopulos says hardships faced by so many have also brought out the best in people:
"Many Salisbury people have welcomed Ukrainians into their homes, many homes and businesses are opening up as warm spaces. So hardship often the kindness in people and as we go into 2023, that's what I hope we'll continue to see, and see more of.
"We need to support out foodbank, we need to support the charities that are working so hard to help the most vulnerable among us. Let's retain that sense of care for one another, so that together we can put these very difficult times behind us."
