Salisbury City Council has announced that carbon emissions have been reduced by 15.2% since 2019.

A Climate Change Emergency was declared in June of 2019, with the City council committing to making Salisbury carbon neutral by 2030.

As part of the quest for net zero, the council has been working with partners to achieve “clean air” in Salisbury, by taking action to reduce vehicle emissions, supporting public transport, cycling and walking.

The council have also been converting or replacing the vehicles they own or operate to electric power, as well as a rapid phasing out of diesel buses.

This announcement follows the government launching their plans for Britain's long-term energy security and independence.
