Live Escape Salisbury have officially opened their new room, which has seen a city centre building turned into a pirate prison.

'The Brig' was a project which was started when husband and wife Charlie and Claire Pitcher took over their second premises in the city, after their Castle Street room.

The game sees teams of between two and five people shackled into the brig of a galleon ship at anchor in Salisbury Docks.

The imprisoned crew must first find their keys to unchain themselves and then solve the puzzles scattered throughout their gaol to escape.

But there is also the executioner, who can come and check up on the prisoners at any time during their escape.

The couple’s new experience is set in their 14th century, Grade II listed location in The Cross Keys Shopping Centre, built around its original timbers, low ceilings and creaking floors, which they say dictated the theme of the room.

Last year, Claire told us:

"We had been looking for the perfect spot in the city centre for what seemed like an eternity. We wanted a building of interest, something special that leant itself to what we had in mind for our new experiences.

"Our new location is bursting with original features. Old timber beams, vaulted ceilings and an original fireplace. Visiting us will not just be an escape room experience, but a journey into Salisbury's fascinating past."

This summer work begins on their flagship experience in their 14th century venue ‘The Smallsbury Toy Company’.

'Pieces of Eight' is a smaller pirate themed game which Claire and Charlie opened last year.
