Salisbury and Amesbury Police tackling knife crime
They've been carrying out checks as part of Operation Sceptre
Police from Salisbury and Amesbury are taking part in efforts to tackle knife crime across South Wiltshire.
Officers have been carrying out test purchases to make sure underage sales aren't happening.
They've said the 'vast majority' of stores successfully challenged the attempted sales, with words of advice given to some businesses.
Trading Standards officers also joined Amesbury officers on similar checks.
Weapons sweeps have been carried out in various locations around Amesbury too, with police using metal detectors to check for knives hidden in undergrowth.
There have been high visibility patrols in anti-social behaviour hotspots as well, with officers providing reassurance for the community.
It all forms part of the nationwide Operation Sceptre campaign this week, tackling knife crime.
The theme in Wiltshire has been to 'bin a knife and save a life', with surrender bins in place at police stations across the county.
