Salisbury District Hospital says it's A&E department is again 'under intense pressure' as it urges people not to attend unless they have a life threatening condition.

Bosses are encouraging the public to use the city's Walk In Center and NHS 111 either online or by phone.

There's this advice for parents too:

We're being reminded that for minor illness community pharmacists can provide advice a range of over-the-counter medicine and treatments.

In a statement on social media the hospital said:

"We ask for your support as we work to improve the flow of patients through the hospital. If you have friends or family waiting to be discharged please try to respond quickly to calls about their ongoing care at home or in another setting. Please don’t visit the hospital site unless strictly necessary. The hospital is open and patients should attend all appointments as normal unless directly contacted by the hospital. If you must attend A&E, please be patient as staff will prioritise those with the most urgent and critical needs."
