The reverse advent calendar has been set up by Salisbury Sixth Form's Pastoral Lead, Rebecca Anderson.

She's been encouraging students and staff to donate items to be shared out to help others.

The response has been pretty good, with food, toiletries, Christmas decorations, gifts, sanitary products, pet food and other things donated.

S6c wanted to do something to support those less fortunate this Christmas

The project's been running through December, just like a normal advent calendar.

The products handed over have been donated to the Trussell Trust now that term has finished (as of Wednesday 16th December).

Pastoral Lead, Rebecca Anderson said:

"Acts of kindness help our own mental health as well as helping those around us, so it's a win win project!"

Vice-Principal, Louise Henderson, said:

"This year, we are facing a very different Christmas. Covid might deny some of us the family feasts of years past, but it won't stop us spreading comfort and joy in the Salisbury community with our reverse advent calendar. Covid-19 has put record numbers of families at risk of going hungry and we recognise the importance of service to our community and some festive cheer - to those in need."
