A day of action in Salisbury by Wiltshire's Roads Policing Officers have flagged up a number of traffic offences.

They were out in the city yesterday (Wednesday 2nd August) as part of their 'Project Zero' campaign.

That aims to tackle the so-called 'Fatal 5' factors known to contribute to road traffic collisions - careless driving, drink and drug driving, not wearing a seatbelt, using a mobile phone and speeding.

Among the incidents that officers picked up were drivers using their phones while behind the wheel on Southampton Road and Castle Road.

A delivery driver was also stopped at Victoria Park for using a handheld device.

The marked police bike also pulled over a number of drivers for using phones, and two for not wearing seatbelts.

Officers stopped a driver for having window tints that were too dark - claiming they should be allowed to keep them as they've been in place for nine years.

They've been issued with a ticket, and the tints immediately removed.
