Huge refurbishment works at Salisbury's Culver Street car park have been completed by Wiltshire Council.

They've been making repairs to the structure, including the columns, floors and brickwork, since June.

The surfacing on floors two and three of the car park have been replaced, with the aim of reducing noise for nearby residents.

Flooring at the car park has been replaced to make it quieter to drive on

New barriers and planters have also been installed throughout.

The whole project's cost £600,000.

Cllr Ian Blair-Pilling, Wiltshire Council Cabinet Member for Operational Assets, said:

“We’re pleased that this work has been successfully carried out. Visually there is little noticeable change, but importantly the infrastructure has been improved and the building is structurally safe.

“We thank everyone for their patience and for bearing with us during the repair period.”

During the work, parts of the car park have had to be coned off, reducing available spaces, at a time when the Central Car Park is being affected by the River Park scheme construction.
