An event supporting prostate cancer treatment in Salisbury is returning to the city later this year.

Since 2015, Race for Men has raised over £60,000 to aid patients in the city, thanks to it's annual event at Hudson's Field.

And Race for Men is back in May this year, with it's sights set on raising even more cash and driving awareness of the most common cancer in men.

Race Director Toby Giles said it's set to be another big event.

He said: "We are trying to raise awareness for prostate cancer in the local community and that is where the money exactly goes.

"People are coming to the event, raising the money, getting sponsorship is raising money for the Stars Appeal Prostate Cancer fund, and that in itself makes it tangible for people to go up to the hospital, see where the money's going."

This year's event features four routes that can be run, with 21k, 10k, 5k and 3k routes available, followed by a five-a-side football tournament in the afternoon.

The event will also feature numerous events for children including inflatables, face painting and petting corner with animals from Cholderton Rare Breeds Farm.

Toby told us that surpassing the £60,000 raised mark is a "massive achievement".

"I'm so proud of what we have achieved with Race for Men, and we have now got our sights set on that £100,000 mark, not necessarily this event, but we want to try and hit that in the next few years or so," he said.

Toby set up the event to support prostate cancer treatment after his dad was diagnosed with the disease in 2013.

He's urging men across the county to get themselves tested.

"What I'd love to see is more men just go and have that chat with their GP because the symptoms of prostate cancer can vary so much, it is just worth having that word with the GP."
