Race for Men raises £8k for Salisbury Prostate Cancer Fund
Race for Men founder Toby Giles also competed in an Ironman event
A sports event held in Salisbury has helped raise £8,000 for the District Hospital's charity, Stars Appeal.
Race for Men, which has been held on Hudson's Field since 2015, sees people run different distances to raise money to fund research and treatment for Prostate Cancer.
This year’s event, which featured a five-a-side football tournament for the first time in it’s history, raised a total of £6,557.87 for the Hospital's Prostate Cancer Fund.
But founder Toby Giles competed in an Ironman event in September, raising a further £1,476, bringing the total past £8,000.
And on 13th October, a cheque for £8,033.87 was handed over to staff of the Prostate and Urology department at Salisbury District Hospital.
Next year’s Race for Men is going to be held on 26th May, at Hudson’s Field in Salisbury, which Toby says is going to be “even bigger” than before.
He added: “Thank you to everyone involved in Race For Men 2023 you really have made a difference.”
