Purse stolen from Amesbury charity shop

A suspect claimed he thought the purse was for sale

A purse has been stolen from a South Wiltshire charity shop - with the suspect claiming he thought it was for sale.

The purse was snatched from a shoppers coat, which had been left unattended in the Alabaré charity shop in Amesbury.

It happened around 2.00pm on Monday afternoon (9th December).

When challenged, the suspect fled the Earls Court Road store and ran away.

He's described as between 6ft and 6'2ft in height, around 28-35 years old and has a Polish accent.

He was wearing a light green coat at the time of the theft.

Investigating officers are asking people in the area and shop owners to check their CCTV footage to see whether their cameras captured the suspect.

They're calling for witnesses, or anyone with an image of the man, to contact them on 101 quoting crime reference number 54240145167.
