A pupil has tested positive for Covid-19 at The Wellington Academy in Tidworth.

The infection was confirmed late last night (Thurs 15 Oct 2020), and is believed to be in a Year-10 student.

All Year-10 children are being told to stay at home and self-isolate, as a precaution, for the next 14 days.

The decision is based on advice from Public Health England and Public Health Wiltshire.

Leaders at The Wellington Academy say no other year group is affected.

It's urging parents to check their emails for instructions - and anyone with questions should email their admin office admin@thewellingtonacademy.org.uk

PRIMARY CASE

They have also confirmed that there is a positive case within Wellington Primary Academy.

The school say the parents or carers of pupils and staff members, identified as close contacts, will be notified.

"Necessary steps" are being taken to minimise the risk to others, cause the least disruption possible and support all those affected.

NEW RULES

It's understood The Academy has also said the wearing of face coverings is now compulsory for students and staff, with that rule now applying in corridors, indoor communal areas, the canteen, and 6th Form.
