A man - described by police as a 'prolific thief' - has been sentenced to 33 weeks in prison for theft from vehicles.

Nicholas Williams, 40, of Prestbury Drive in Waminster, was sentenced at Swindon Magistrates Court on June 21 for seven offences in the Boreham Road area.

PC Tom Newman said, "The Neighbourhood Policing Team and response officers have been working hard to secure convictions on Williams.

"Warminster Police have been also working with probation services and offender management to offer support and work with Williams to prevent further criminality.

"On June 19, 2025, Williams was arrested and remanded for the offence of theft from a vehicle. He has shown that he has a flagrant disregard for court orders, and for people and their property

" We know that Williams offending has caused concern and upset for many people in the Boreham Road area, and we will continue work to prevent Williams re-offending when he is released from prison."
