Staff on Salisbury City Council's streetscene, parks and open spaces teams have been praised for the way they've dealt with the services moving in-house.

The authority took over full responsibility for services on 1st December 2022, and that's meant some staff moving across from other employers and contractors.

We're told those people are 'settling in well' with the existing team.

Salisbury City Council say they're 'delighted with the expansion' and have paid tribute to the 'great job' they're doing of 'making sure that our city’s streets are clean, the grounds are mowed and the parks are looking green for the enjoyment of visitors, residents and wildlife'.

New Grounds Operations Supervisor, Graham Sellwood, said:

“The team have done such a good job throughout the changeover and we have all been welcomed and felt part of the Council’s team from day one. It has been a great start to the New Year and we are all working hard to achieve a high standard of service for the community of Salisbury."

One of the Leaders of Salisbury City Council, Cllr Victoria Charleston said:

“I would like to extend a warm welcome to the new members of the Grounds and Streetscene Teams who have joined us over the past month. They play a vital role in keeping our city tidy and inviting; I encourage everyone to do their bit by using our litter bins and working together for a cleaner, greener Salisbury.”
