A plastic surgeon from Salisbury has been charged with online child sexual abuse offences after a National Crime Agency investigation.
Mansoor Khan, 53, was charged with three counts of making indecent images of children relating to categories A-C (A being the most severe).
The NCA say the offences do not relate to any of his patients.
He is due to appear at Salisbury Magistrates' Court on the 27th of May 2022.
Mr Khan, who has worked as a Plastic Surgeon at Salisbury NHS Foundation Trust since 2009, was suspended from his role in August 2021 pending the investigation.
Dr Peter Collins Chief Medical Officer at Salisbury Foundation Trust said:
"The Trust has fully supported the National Crime Agency investigation and recognises the seriousness of the charges against Mr Khan.
If any of our patients or their parents and guardians who have been treated by Mr Khan at Salisbury Hospital have any concerns we would encourage them to contact our Patient Advocacy and Liaison Service (PALS) for support."
Salisbury PALS can be reached the dedicated number 07880278899 or via email SFT.MrKhanquestions@NHS.net.
Dr Collins added:
"Patients awaiting treatment by Mr Khan will be transferred to an alternative surgeon at the hospital and will be directly notified by the team.
If anyone has information that may help the investigation these need to be directed to the National Crime Agency on 0370 4967622."
