Plans to improve Salisbury skatepark
Young people who use the ramps at Churchill Gardens urged to have their say
Wiltshire Police and Salisbury City Council want to know how the Churchill Gardens Skatepark could be improved in the future.
They say teenagers and children who use the facility are best placed to say what's needed and what needs changing.
An online questionnaire asks users to rate the floor and asks if they would support lights around the edge.
Skateboard, scooter and bike fans, are also asked if they feel safe and whether the facility "attracts the wrong type of people for example people who use drugs, drink alcohol, cause general anti-social behaviour?"
Police Community Support Officer Steph Whitcombe said;
"The users of the Skatepark are the best people to tell us what is needed. The Skatepark has been in place for a long time and it is important that when things need replacing, it is replaced with something that most users want to see. The questionnaire is a way to gather as many opinions as possible. We are also hoping to set up a Skatepark committee, which will make decisions about the future and organise events for the summer holidays to raise money."
The skatepark was last updated and redesigned in 2014.
In 2016 the Western Way skatepark at Bemerton Heath was upgraded to have a dual level, modern half pipe made using the latest materials and construction.
